    THE AWARD WINNING KNOCK

we've only gone and ruddy won that msn livesessions thing we went in for haven't we?!  yes we have!  it was last thursday we drove to london all excited due to being in the last three in our category, although equally skeptical on the grounds that fortune doesn't usually favour us in these things.  anyway, we didn't need fortune because we played brilliantly and came home with a big fuck off cheque.  fortune can kiss our collective balls.  out of hundreds of bands who entered the judging panel chose us as the best.  haha - kiss our arse fortune!  (don't know how it's going to do that whilst sucking our balls, but as it's an abstract concept it probably doesn't have the same physical restrictions as say, james brennan, so i'm sure it'll think of something.)

look out for the results the money being spent on new recordings soon...

in other good news, we played at in the city last week to a surprisingly enthusiastic crowd, especially given we'd never played in manchester before.  the performance ended with the stage being rushed by a load of people who said they were from 'the industry.'  personally i've never been to 'the industry' - i'm assuming it's a mancunian suburb or something - but they're a friendly bunch and no mistake - they all wanted to shake hands with us and give us their business cards and take our cds off our hands.  bless 'em.

and in one final bit of great news this week, alan mcgee posted us that cheque he owed us, so we won't need to take 'the boys' down when we play at the borderline for him a week on friday.  nice one mcgee.

AND we were writing today and this song is going to be absolutely awesome and it's got it's own dance routine and everything.

that is all for now - i will leave you with a small request:  if you're discussing us with your friends from now on, please can you refer to us only as 'the award-winning knock.'  because that's what we are.  thanks.

    hello

Hello. Thanks for coming to our msn thingy  - we are the Knock.

The Knock are like your favourite indie band crossed with the chemical brothers. They use mix of sampled and sequenced drums and synths and live instrumentation to make for electrifying performances. Their two frontman approach and energetic electronic rocknroll make for an awesome live prospect.

They are a collective of 5 individuals that approach music with an energy that you want to dance your pants off to...

    Recent (ish) Review:-

The Knock @ Purple Turtle, Camden - 25th August 2005
Although barely half-full by the time that the evening's first band - The Knock - come onstage, it is immediately evident that those who chose to bowl down to Camden's Purple Turtle early enough to catch the support would not regret doing so. Looking slick as fuck in natty matching black and grey, these boys audaciously succeed in out-Bravery-ing The Bravery and slicing up The Killers' canon without breaking sweat. John Harris' percussion and the Moog pounding of Jim Sanders form the backbone of their sound, whilst the two frontmen exude rockstar confidence and compliment each other perfectly - bringing to mind what The Music may have been aiming for had they been blessed with even an ounce of these chappies talent. What's more, from the look of some of the kit they had on stage, they seem to have a touching affection for all things vintage - which, t'be honest, just makes me like them even more. It's very rare that i bounce before my fourth Stella, however bounce i did. The Knock - whose sheer energy, rhythm and a sackful of tunes put them head and shoulders above their counterparts
